Fixing a few things...

Swing as of a few months ago that needs work:

Face on

Down the line

Been a while since I updated the blog. Had a fun year golfing. Posted my best score ever this year, and for a time played some really good golf. Over the past month I feel like I fell apart and so I sought some help. Turned to a trusted adviser for help. First matter of business was the grip. Turns out my grip was too much in the life line. You can see that with the shaft at the same angle as the left arm. Angle needs to be more acute and shaft handle should be more in cradle of the pinky than lifeline. Feels a bit Zach Johnsonish to me.
Second matter of business is the right trigger finger. In the old grip it pointed down the shaft instead of wrapping around. This is partly because my right thumb was not over the left thumb as it should have been.
Wrist hinging is next and the video in the next post is my explanation of what I should be doing.
That is about 40% of what we covered.
The next 40% was in set up. Because of the grip change I am a tad closer to the ball and have more bend at the waist. That was part of my problem. The other part is that my shoulders, hips and feet were not all in sync and lined up properly. This will take time and will take some tedious moments to make sure I am closer to being in line than I have been. I need to figure out what square feels like and then in my preshot routine set my grip and follow with making sure my shoulders and rest of my body are all in alignment.
The other 20% is my dreadfully horizontal shoulders. I have kinda realized I didn't quite do this right. The goal is to turn the shoulders 90 degrees to the spine. I tried it for a while earlier this year, but it was messy and I gave up before I should have and now here I am fully realizing what I should have been doing all along.
As
soon as I have some pics/video I will post them.
